A year after PEN’s reaction against air pollution levels, Prishtina is faced again with extreme levels of polluted air.
The lack of local institutions’ tangible measures to lower pollution levels has halted the improved of these conditions. Following the alarming trends of air pollution which last approximately five months a year, this issue needs to become a priority of not only relevant institutions but to all state institutions, who need to collaborate towards solving this urgent problem.
Clean air is not a luxury, it is an essential need and right of everybody, and restricting it is a violation of the right for living environment.
PEN appeals again to all state institutions to implement tangible measures during these periods of emergency regarding air pollution, and PEN also supports all citizens’ initiatives to lower air pollution.
