About PEN

Peer Educators Network (PEN) is a non-governmental and non-profitable youth organization that aims to create a community where young men and women are empowered to act as agents of social change. PEN works all over Kosovo by being active in 36 municipalities and has over 4000 volunteers/peer educators, who are represented by Municipal Coordinators at the PEN Assembly. PEN is led by the Assembly of Members, Executive Director and employees, and advised by the Board of Directors.

The mission of PEN is to empower young men and women regardless of their gender, ethnicity, religion, sexuality or other social categories through programs which enhance their leadership skills while promoting human rights and active citizenship. PEN’s programs tackle youth empowerment and employment, volunteerism, gender equality, social innovation and entrepreneurship, environmental protection, anti-violence and healthy lifestyle.

The Coalition for Social Justice and Socio-Economic Rights, in a two-day workshop, tackled labor rights, health and safety in the workplace, parental leave, and overall advancing the decent work agenda in Kosovo. A fruitful discussion between partner organizations, labour unions, and the representative from the Ministry of Finance, Labor, and Transfers led to developing a logical framework, and action plan. The logical framework and action plan pave the way for the Coalition to promote social dialogue, ensure that labor rights are at the cornerstone of development, contribute towards the establishment of the social security fund, and advocate for the parental leave model which can help foster gender equality in the labor force. This workshop is realized within the project "Social Dialogue for Social Justice", implemented by the Coalition for Social Justice and Socio-Economic Rights, with the support of Olof Palme International Center. ...
